The discovery has raised concerns about the university’s handling of student safety and administrative negligence.
Prakriti, a student of the university, had reportedly filed a complaint a few days prior regarding an undisclosed issue, but it appears that the hostel administration failed to take appropriate action to address her concerns. As news of her death spread, Nepali students at the hostel sought clarity from the university’s higher authorities, but were met with dismissive responses. The students were brutalized and beaten up.
In the wake of the incident, the administration issued a notice instructing all Nepali students residing in the hostel to vacate the premises immediately, adding to the controversy surrounding the university’s handling of the situation.
While the cause of Prakriti Lamsalโs death is still under investigation, the response from the KIIT security staff and hostel personnel has sparked outrage, with many questioning their responsibility in ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
